De tolv tävlande artisterna i Eurovizija 2015

Precis när vi hunnit städa upp efter nyårsfesten, den 3 januari, drar Litauen igång sin nationella eurovisionuttagning Eurovizijos - och nu har man också presenterat det fulla dussinet artister som kommer att göra upp om segern där!

Upplägget i tävlingen är snarlikt det man använde under förra säsongen: Låt och artist väljs från vars ett håll och först i den sista finalen avgörs vilken låt som till slut paras ihop med vilken artist.

Det blir också en hel del återvinning på artistsidan - alla de tre artister radade upp sig bakom förra årets vinnare Vilija Matačiūnaitė finns nämligen med även den här gången; tvåan Mia, trean Vaidas Baumila och fyran Monika Linkytė. Ytterligare fem (Reda Striškaitė, Liera Mondeikaitė, Jurgis Bruzga, Neringa Šiaudikytė och Edgaras Lubys) har tävlat i tidigare upplagor av uttagningen medan alltså fyra är helt nya i sammanhanget, däribland tävlingens enda grupp, pojkbandet Rolikai som till två tredjedelar består av tävlande från litauiska The Voice.

Jag håller tummarna för att de justeringar som gjorts inför den här säsongen gör att vi får en något mer överskådlig tävling i år - det var ju faktiskt aldrig något större fel på artisterna ifjol, men ack vilken röra själva tävlingen var! Vi får se, jag tänker i alla fall hänga med från start efter nyår!

Hållpunkter för Eurovizija 2015

3 januari: Deltävling I - De tolv tävlande presenteras och den första röstningsomgången inleds men ingen röstas ut.
10 januari: Deltävling II - De tolv tävlande framför vars en världshit. Rösterna från den första deltävlingen läggs ihop med andra deltävlingens röster och artisten med minst antal röster röstas ut.
17 januari: Deltävling III - De elva tävlande framför vars en av de elva tävlande låtarna. De två artisterna samt de två låtarna med minst antal röster röstas ut. Att en artist blir utröstad innebär alltså inte per automatik att dennes låt förvinner och vice versa.
24 januari: Deltävling IV - Samma upplägg som i den tredje deltävlingen, men nu ska nio artister och låtar bli sju.
31 januari: Deltävling V - Samma upplägg som i den tredje och fjärde deltävlingen, men nu ska sju artister och låtar bli fem.
7 februari: Deltävling VI - Samma upplägg som i deltävling tre, fyra och fem, men nu ska fem artister och låtar bli tre
14 februari: Låtfinal - här handlar allt om låten. Juryn och tittarna röstar fram låten Litauen kommer att tävla med i Wien.
21 februari: Final - de tre återstående artisterna framför alla vinnarlåten och tittarna och juryn får i uppdrag att rösta fram vinnaren. Skulle två artister få samma poäng avgör juryns röster.
28 februari: Show med det bästa från den nationella uttagningen.
1 mars: Stödkonsert för vinnaren, där artisterna som hamnade på plats ett till sex deltar.

And the 12 candidates to represent Lithuania in Eurovision 2015 are ...

The Lithuanian public television station LTR has just revealed the name of the 12 competitors to Eurovizijos their national final. A jury composed of four members - Ramūnas Zilnys (music critic), Edmundas Seilius (opera soloist), Audrius Giržadas (Producer Chief LRT), and Linas Adomaitis (singer, who represented Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004) selected the 12 songs that will compete in the national team. This jury will also be responsible for choosing the best songs to pass to the next stage. The first show will be broadcast on January 3, then from here we will watch a show a week before the 14th February, the day that will choose the song that will represent Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 and finally February 21 will be selected the artist for the song. 

Liepa Mondeikaitė who has started as a solo singer in the beginning of her career is now part of the girls band “Pop Ladies”. She has previously participated as a soloist twice and as part of “Pop Ladies” last year failing to reach the finals.
Neringa Šiaudikytė first gained fame in the first season of “The Voice of Lithuania” reaching the semifinals. Currently she is most known for being in an all-blond girls band “Naujosios Pupytės”.
Edgaras Lubys to most Eurovision fans is known as Amberlife with most successful entry “In Your Eyes” placing 4th in the National Final back in 2004. A rather controversial year it was for Edgaras as he was a televote winner but scored little with jury.
Vilija Pilibaitytė-Mia placed second last year to Vilija Matačiūnaitė. Mia transfomed “Take A Look At  Me Now” with huge success, but the song failed to win over Vilija’s “Attention” thus failing to get the singer to Copenhagen.
Vaidas Baumila is another comeback from last year placing 3rd after Vilija and Mia. Vaidas became familiar to public after he has taken part in a TV show “Dangus” in 2005 which was a popular music talent show.
Monika Linkytė has previously participated 5 times in the selection hoping 6th time will be the lucky one. Last year she came close to making the finals ending up 4th.
Reda Striškaitė is a jazz singer, to many seeming as an unknown, she has in fact participating in the national selection back in 2005 ending up 16th in the final.
Milita Daikerytė is a two-time 2nd placer in the Junior Eurovision selection. She took part in “The Voice of Lithuania” last year and was eliminated in the semi-finals.
Jurgis Bruzga is also not a newcomer when it comes to Eurovision as he has previously participated. He did not have much success with it previously, but is known as a solid vocalist to the general public.
Wilma La is perhaps the most mysterious participant. All that is known about her at this time is that she lives in Australia and came back specifically for the contest.
Tadas Juodsnukis appeared in the public eye when he took part in the show “Romeo & Juliet” looking to take the spot of the Romeo in the musical with the same name. He successfully won the role and went on to tour around Lithuania.
“Rollikai” is the only band in the selection. It is a 3-piece boyband comprising of 2 participants of “The Voice of Lithuania” and a professional dancer.

The airing of the show will begin in January.
